PPSU Body, Demountable & Reusable — Built to Come Apart, Not Fall Apart
The two questions that separate a professional push-fit from a disposable one: what’s the body made of, and can you take it back off?
Hitze push-fit fittings use a PPSU (polyphenylsulfone) body — a high-performance engineering polymer chosen for hot-water and hydronic service because it resists high temperature, hydraulic stress-cracking and hydrolysis, where cheaper POM or nylon bodies embrittle and crack over time. The connection is demountable: a demount clip (or release collar) retracts the stainless grab ring so the pipe pulls straight out. Reposition it, extend the run, or reuse the fitting entirely — no cutting, no crimp to grind off. This is what makes Hitze push-fit the natural choice for renovation, repairs and any install where re-entry is expected.

A push-fit sealing a potable line has to clear two checks: a potable-rated body and seal, and lead-free wetted metal.
Hitze push-fit fittings are built for drinking water. The PPSU body and O-ring are potable-rated, and the wetted metal parts — including the stainless grab ring — are lead-free, supporting NSF/ANSI 61 in North America and WRAS / DVGW drinking-water requirements in the UK/EU. Across the wider Hitze portfolio, our systems and fittings carry cUPC (IAPMO), NSF-14, NSF/ANSI 61, DVGW, WRAS and CE + DoP — the certification families North American and European buyers require to specify with confidence.
