PP-R Pipe & Fittings — A German-Engineered Fusion System for Hot & Cold Water and Heating

Hitze PP-R (polypropylene random copolymer) pipe and fittings are built as one homogeneous, heat-fused system — no rubber seals, no O-rings, nothing in the joint to age or leak.

Manufactured to German engineering standards (DIN 8077/8078, EN ISO 15874) and SKZ-tested, the range spans three pipe technologies — self-cleaning ceramic-core, fiber-glass reinforced (PPR-FB-PPR), and PPR-AL-PPR aluminium composite — across OD 20–110 mm (DN15–DN90).

Trade / bulk supply only — Hitze does not sell single lengths at retail.

The Fusion System

Homogeneous Welded Joints — No Seals to Fail

PP-R is joined by heat fusion, not by seals. That single difference is why it is the lowest-risk connection you can specify behind a wall or under a slab.

PP-R is joined by heat fusion (socket welding): the pipe and fitting are heated and pressed together so the two polymer surfaces melt into a single, continuous mass. The result is a joint that is homogeneous with the pipe wall itself — chemically and mechanically one piece. There is no rubber seal, no gasket, and no compression ring to relax, harden, or leak over a 50-year service life. For potable and heating systems where a wall or slab may be closed over the pipe, a fused PP-R joint is the lowest-risk connection you can specify.

One Homogeneous Joint

Pipe and fitting melt into a single continuous polymer mass — no interface to age, no dissimilar materials to corrode.

No Seals to Fail

No O-rings, gaskets or compression rings in the joint — nothing to relax, harden or leak over a long service life.

Three Types

Three PP-R Pipe Types — Ceramic-Core, Fiber-Glass & Aluminium Composite

Hitze does not sell one generic PP-R pipe. It offers three engineered types, all for hot & cold water, all made to DIN 8077/8078 and EN ISO 15874, and all SKZ-tested.

The self-cleaning ceramic-core pipe (green with a red stripe) uses a smooth ceramic core to resist scaling and is rated to 10 bar (class 1) / 8 bar (class 2). The fiber-glass reinforced pipe (PPR-FB-PPR) adds a glass-fiber middle layer that cuts thermal expansion for hot-water lines, also 10 bar / 8 bar. The PPR-AL-PPR aluminium composite pipe adds a middle aluminium layer for an oxygen barrier and the lowest expansion, rated to 6 bar (class 1) / 4 bar (class 2). Choose the technology per line; source them all from one certified system.

Hot Lines · Low Expansion

Low-Expansion Pipe for Hot Lines — Fiber-Glass Reinforced & PPR-AL-PPR

Plain PP-R expands noticeably when hot — a real problem on long hot-water runs. Hitze answers with two low-expansion constructions.

The fiber-glass reinforced pipe (PPR-FB-PPR) adds a glass-fiber middle layer that cuts linear thermal expansion by roughly two-thirds versus standard PP-R, rated to 10 bar (class 1) / 8 bar (class 2). The PPR-AL-PPR aluminium composite pipe goes further, using a middle aluminium layer that acts as an oxygen barrier and holds expansion to the lowest of the three types, rated to 6 bar (class 1) / 4 bar (class 2). In the field, both mean less sag between brackets, fewer expansion loops, wider support spacing, and a straighter, more professional-looking hot riser. Both fuse with the same tools and fittings as standard PP-R, so installers gain low-expansion performance with no change in method.

Two cross-sections side by side — glass-fiber middle layer vs. silver aluminium middle layer, with a straight hot riser between brackets

One Certified System

Fittings, Welder and Test Pump from One Source

A PP-R project is only as good as its fittings, so Hitze ships the whole system — pipe, the full heat-fusion fitting range, and the tools to install and prove the line.

The full heat-fusion range covers equal and reducing sockets, elbows and tees, 45° elbows, unions, ball / gate / stop valves, manifolds, a Y-strainer, caps and pipe clips — plus brass-insert threaded fittings from 1/2″ to 2″ for clean transitions to metal. Every fitting fuses homogeneously to the pipe: no rubber seal, no gasket, nothing in the joint to age. And because commissioning matters, Hitze also supplies the PP-R fusion welding machine and a PN40 pressure-test pump, so a wholesaler or contractor can source pipe, fittings and tools from a single certified brand.

Applications

One System for Potable Water and Heating

Because PP-R is chemically inert and its joints carry no seals, the same Hitze system serves the bulk of a building’s wet services.

The same Hitze system serves hot & cold potable (drinking) water, domestic hot-water recirculation, and closed-loop heating distribution. The self-cleaning ceramic-core type resists scaling; the aluminium-composite type adds an oxygen barrier for closed heating loops — no separate material, no dissimilar-metal corrosion, no ageing seals in fused joints. For merchants and importers, that means one certified product family covers the bulk of a building’s wet services — simpler stock, simpler quoting, one brand on the invoice.

FAQ

PP-R Pipe & Fittings — Frequently Asked Questions

What are the three types of Hitze PP-R pipe and their pressure ratings?
For the ContractorThree types, all for hot & cold water: self-cleaning ceramic-core (green, red stripe) at 10 bar class 1 / 8 bar class 2; fiber-glass reinforced PPR-FB-PPR, also 10 / 8 bar; and PPR-AL-PPR aluminium composite at 6 / 4 bar. All are SKZ-tested and made to DIN 8077/8078 and EN ISO 15874.
What is the benefit of fiber-glass reinforced (PPR-FB-PPR) pipe?
For the ContractorThe glass-fiber middle layer cuts linear thermal expansion by roughly two-thirds versus plain PP-R. On hot-water runs that means less sag, fewer expansion loops, and wider bracket spacing — a straighter riser, fused with the same tools and fittings as standard PP-R, rated to 10 / 8 bar.
Is PPR pipe safe for potable (drinking) water?
For the ImporterYes. PP-R is a chemically inert polymer and its heat-fused joints contain no rubber seals to degrade. Hitze PP-R is SKZ-tested and made to DIN 8077/8078 and EN ISO 15874; NSF/ANSI 61, DVGW and WRAS are also held. Specific certificate numbers are available on request in the Cert Pack.
What pipe sizes and fittings does Hitze offer in PP-R?
For the WholesalerHitze PP-R pipe covers OD 20 mm to 110 mm (DN15–DN90), wall 3.4–18.3 mm, inner dia 13.2–73.4 mm, plus a full heat-fusion fitting range — sockets, elbows, tees, valves, manifolds and brass-insert threaded fittings — with a fusion welding machine and PN40 test pump. Pipe, fittings and tools ship as one system.
Can Hitze private-label PP-R for our brand, and what is the MOQ?
For the ImporterYes. As a German brand (GERMANY Hitze INDUSTRY CO., LTD., founded 1974) on an ODM model, Hitze prints your logo, color and spec on the full PP-R system. MOQ is low and sample-friendly; exact MOQ figures are coming soon, so you can validate a range before scaling. Request samples to start.
