Product · Pipe
PP-R plus an inner copper layer for hygienic potable hot & cold water. Hitze PPR-CU fuses the corrosion-free, leak-free performance of German-standard PP-R with the oligodynamic (antibacterial) action of an integrated copper bore.
Engineered in Germany to DIN 8077/78 and EN ISO 15874, SKZ-tested. Available OD 20–63 mm for wholesale and private-label programs across 118+ export markets.
Trade & OEM only — for distributors, importers and private-label brands sourcing certified antibacterial pipe by the container, not a retail listing.

The Product
A PP-R body you already know how to weld, with a copper bore you can market as a hygiene upgrade. (Cut-section and copper-bore photography is being finalized; captioned frames show exactly what ships.)
What It Is
Standard PP-R is already the workhorse of modern potable plumbing: corrosion-proof, scale-resistant, and heat-fusion welded into fully homogeneous, leak-free systems. PPR-CU takes that base and bonds a thin metallic copper layer to the inner wall of the pipe.
Standard PP-R (Random Copolymer Polypropylene) carries water reliably and joints homogeneously — but a plain plastic bore does nothing to control what grows inside it. PPR-CU bonds a thin metallic copper layer to the inner wall, and that copper surface delivers two things a plastic bore cannot:
The result is a pipe that carries water like PP-R but keeps the water pathway hygienic like copper — without copper’s corrosion, cost, and jointing complexity. Hitze produces PPR-CU across the full PP-R family range, OD 20 mm to OD 63 mm, to DIN 8077/78 and EN ISO 15874.

Where It Wins
PPR-CU is not a general-purpose upgrade — it earns its premium exactly where microbial control matters most.
Water systems where biofilm and waterborne pathogen risk (e.g. a Legionella management strategy) demand every hygienic advantage. The antibacterial copper bore is a passive line of defense inside the pipe itself.
Long, intermittently-used risers and branch lines where stagnant water and scale are chronic problems. The smooth, low-scale bore protects guest-water quality and flow.
Homeowners and developers specifying a premium, hygiene-first potable system for kitchens and bathrooms, without switching material families.
Schools, care homes, and food-grade facilities where potable-safe, cleanable pipework is a spec requirement.
For any of these, PPR-CU installs on the same heat-fusion workflow and the same Hitze PP-R fittings your crews already use — so the hygiene upgrade adds no new tooling and no new failure modes at the joint.
Size & Fusion
Hitze PPR-CU covers branch runs through main risers in one homogeneous, weldable system — from fixture branches to high-flow feeds.
| OD (mm) | Typical Use |
|---|---|
| 20 | Fixture branches, short runs |
| 25 | Room / floor branch lines |
| 32 | Sub-mains, apartment risers |
| 40 | Distribution mains |
| 50 | Building risers |
| 63 | Main risers / high-flow feeds |
The Copper Bore
The hygiene benefit is not a coating claim — it is a metallic copper surface working passively against biofilm every hour the pipe is in service.
Copper has long been recognised for its oligodynamic effect: at the wetted surface, trace copper ions disrupt bacterial cell membranes, suppressing the biofilm that would otherwise colonise a plain plastic bore. Because the mechanism is the copper itself — not a chemical dose or an additive that leaches out — it keeps working continuously across the pipe’s whole service life.
A pipe that carries water like PP-R but keeps the water pathway hygienic like copper — without copper’s corrosion, cost, or jointing complexity.
Proof · German Standards
Hitze is the house brand of GERMANY Hitze INDUSTRY CO., LTD — founded 1974, over 50 years of pipe engineering — a 120,000 m² production base with 1,000+ employees, exporting to 118+ countries. German trademark registered at the Deutsches Patent- und Markenamt, Munich (Reg. No. 30 2020 005 484).
Every PPR-CU pipe is built and verified against:
For potable and regional market access, Hitze holds and asserts the relevant certificate families — NSF/ANSI 61 (potable contact), WRAS, DVGW, cUPC/UPC, CE + DoP — across the applicable range. Certificate numbers are supplied in the Hitze Cert Pack on request (we assert the families; we never publish numbers we can’t evidence).
German brand, engineered in Germany to German standards, and manufactured via our overseas ODM base — genuine German-standard engineering with export-scale supply. Certificate numbers are verifiable at source in the official registers — ask us, then check for yourself.
Wholesale & ODM
PPR-CU is a differentiated, competition-light product — few suppliers offer a certified copper-lined antibacterial PP-R line. That makes it a margin opportunity for distributors and a genuine point of difference for private-label brands.
Container-scale supply from a 50-year, 118-country export base, with consistent DIN/EN ISO quality lot to lot.
