Product · Pipe
Hitze is a German brand of premium PEX and PE-RT pipe, contract-manufactured to German standards — SKZ-tested and built to DIN 8077/8078 and EN ISO 15874.
One source for potable PEX (NSF & cUPC support) and EVOH oxygen-barrier heating pipe — 16–32 mm, 100–300 m coils, 50-year service life — for hydronic and radiant-floor systems.
Trade / bulk supply only — Hitze does not sell single lengths at retail.

The Range
Potable and heating grades, every crosslink method, real floor-heating sizes — one German-engineered source. (Product photography is being finalized; captioned frames show what ships.)
Type & Process
All three meet the same ASTM F876/F877 performance grade. The difference is the crosslinking process — and which install method and price point your buyers expect.
| Spec | PEX-a (Engel) | PEX-b (silane) | PEX-c (electron-beam) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Crosslink method | Peroxide, high-heat / high-pressure during extrusion | Silane / moisture cure after extrusion | Electron-beam irradiation after extrusion |
| Crosslink degree | Highest & most uniform | Good | Good |
| Flexibility | Highest — tightest bend radius | Stiffer | Medium |
| Kink repair | Repairable with heat (expansion-fit friendly) | Not heat-repairable | Not heat-repairable |
| Typical install | Expansion + crimp / clamp | Crimp / clamp / push-fit | Crimp / clamp / push-fit |
| Relative cost | Highest | Lowest | Medium |
| Standard | ASTM F876/F877 | ASTM F876/F877 | ASTM F876/F877 |
For expansion-fit systems and the most demanding cold-weather flexibility, buyers reach for PEX-a. For crimp/clamp installs at a sharper price, PEX-b is the volume workhorse. PEX-c sits in between. Hitze extrudes all three so you don’t have to split your order across suppliers — one PO, one set of paperwork.
Potable Safety
Drinking-water listings are the difference between a product you can shelve and a returned container. Hitze potable PEX is built and supported for exactly that.
Hitze pipe is tested and certified by SKZ (Süddeutsches Kunststoff-Zentrum, a German plastics testing institute) and built to DIN 8077/8078 and EN ISO 15874. On top of that base, our potable lines are made for drinking-water contact and supported to NSF-14 and NSF/ANSI 61 for North America, listed via cUPC (IAPMO), and paired with lead-free brass (DZR / CW724R) fittings. For the UK and EU we support WRAS and DVGW, plus CE + DoP.

Sizes & Coils
Real floor-heating and plumbing sizes from an EVOH oxygen-barrier multilayer construction, so you can consolidate SKUs under one brand and one certification set — with a 50-year service life.
| Size (OD × wall) | OD | Wall | Coil length |
|---|---|---|---|
| 16 × 2.0 | 16 | 2.0 | 100–300 m |
| 16 × 2.2 | 16 | 2.2 | 100–300 m |
| 20 × 2.0 | 20 | 2.0 | 100–300 m |
| 20 × 2.3 | 20 | 2.3 | 100–300 m |
| 20 × 2.8 | 20 | 2.8 | 100–300 m |
| 25 × 2.3 | 25 | 2.3 | 100–300 m |
| 25 × 3.5 | 25 | 3.5 | 100–300 m |
| 32 × 3.0 | 32 | 3.0 | 100–300 m |
| 32 × 4.4 | 32 | 4.4 | 100–300 m |
All PE-RT & PEX heating pipe is EVOH oxygen-barrier multilayer with a 50-year service life, supplied in coils of 100–300 m in red, orange, black and pink. Per-size pressure/temperature ratings (bar / ℃) are in the Spec Pack — exact ratings: coming soon.
EVOH · DIN 4726
In a closed heating loop, oxygen diffusion through ordinary pipe corrodes boilers, pumps and manifolds. The barrier layer is not optional — it’s the spec.
Hitze PE-RT & PEX heating pipe is built as an EVOH oxygen-barrier multilayer construction — the EVOH layer blocks oxygen diffusion per DIN 4726, protecting steel and cast-iron boilers, pumps and manifolds across the hydronic system, over a 50-year service life. It runs 16 × 2.0 through 32 × 4.4 mm in coils of 100–300 m. Use barrier PE-RT/PEX for closed heating loops; use non-barrier potable PEX for domestic water — one certified source for both.
Building a full radiant-floor loop? Pair barrier PE-RT/PEX with our compression fittings and manifolds for a single-supplier hydronic package.
Tool Compatibility
A PEX order is only useful if it fits the fittings and jaws your installers already own.
Hitze PEX is dimensioned to ASTM F876/F877 so it works with standard crimp (copper ring), clamp (cinch), push-fit and expansion methods, and with press fittings across common 16 / 20 / 25 / 32 mm sizes. Our press fittings use a brass body + stainless sleeve + plastic ring and are matched to standard TH / U / F / M jaw profiles. Tell us your tooling and we confirm compatibility before you order — no surprises on-site.
