How a Distributor Built a Consistent Wholesale Supply Program with Hitze

A tolerance-controlled, fully-certified, reorder-on-schedule supply partnership — engineered in Germany, built for wholesalers who cannot afford stockouts.

Same spec every container, on the shelf when contractors need it, with paperwork that clears customs on the first pass.

Illustrative case — details anonymized pending client authorization. Hitze supplies distributors, importers and merchants, not end consumers.

A Wholesaler’s Consistent Supply Program

An illustrative, anonymized wholesale supply relationship — the kind of program Hitze runs for distributors replacing a supplier that could no longer keep the shelf consistent, stocked and certified.

The Challenge

When “Cheap Pipe” Costs a Distributor Its Shelf

The distributor wasn’t looking for the cheapest pipe. They were looking for a supply program they could build a business on.

Before partnering with Hitze, the distributor was sourcing PEX and PP-R lines from a supplier that looked competitive on paper — until the reorders started arriving. Three problems compounded across the shelf:

  • Tolerance drift between batches. Outer diameter and wall thickness varied lot to lot, so fittings that seated cleanly in one container leaked or crimped poorly in the next. The distributor’s own contractor customers began returning “mixed-stock” complaints — the single fastest way to lose a trade account.
  • Recurring stockouts. Reorders shipped late and inconsistently, leaving fast-moving SKUs (16/20/25 mm) empty for weeks. Every empty bin sent a contractor to a competitor’s counter.
  • Incomplete certification documents. Shipments arrived without a full, matching cert pack — missing NSF/ANSI 61 or DVGW paperwork — which stalled customs clearance and made it impossible to sell into projects that demanded documented compliance.

What they needed was a program with three guarantees: same spec every time, on the shelf when contractors need it, with paperwork that clears customs on the first pass.

Before: half-empty distributor bins & return slips on fast-moving 16/20/25 mm SKUs

The Solution

A Supply Program Engineered for Reorder Confidence

Hitze rebuilt the distributor’s supply around three guarantees — each mapped to one of the failures above.

Tolerance Control & Batch Consistency

OD, wall thickness and the EVOH oxygen-barrier layer sampled and logged per batch — not per shipment.

Capacity & Reorder Scheduling

A recurring reorder schedule tied to real sell-through, so fast-moving sizes refill before the bin hits zero.

FOB + Full Certification Docs

A complete, matching cert and customs document set with every shipment — cleared on the first attempt.

Tolerance Control & Batch Consistency

Every production lot is inspected against EN ISO 21003 (multilayer) and EN ISO 15874 / 15875 (PP-R / PEX) dimensional limits, cross-checked to ASTM F877 / F1281 where the North American market requires it. Outer diameter, wall thickness and the EVOH oxygen-barrier layer (DIN 4726) are sampled and logged per batch, not per shipment.

The practical result for a wholesaler: a fitting that seats in Container 1 seats identically in Container 12. Mixed-stock complaints disappear, and the distributor can promise contractors one consistent spec across the whole ranging.

Inside Our Quality Control

Capacity & Cadence

Capacity & Reorder Scheduling

Instead of one-off orders, Hitze runs the account on a recurring reorder schedule tied to the distributor’s actual sell-through.

Fast-moving sizes (16 / 20 / 25 / 32 mm) are planned ahead of the bin hitting zero, so the shelf stays stocked through the busy season. The distributor moved from reactive “we’re out again” ordering to a predictable cadence — the single biggest driver of keeping contractor accounts loyal to their counter.

2

Plan Ahead of Zero

Customs & Compliance

FOB Terms + Full Certification Docs for Customs

Every shipment ships FOB with a complete, matching document set — so shipments clear customs on the first attempt.

Alongside the pipe, each shipment carries a complete cert and customs document set: cUPC (IAPMO), NSF-14 / NSF/ANSI 61, DVGW, WRAS and CE + DoP certification, alongside the commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin.

That means the distributor’s shipments clear customs on the first attempt and can be sold straight into projects that demand documented compliance — no scrambling for missing paperwork after the container has already landed.

FAQ

Wholesale Supply FAQ — Wholesalers, Distributors & Importers

How do you keep dimensional tolerance consistent across reorders?
For the WholesalerEvery lot is sampled for outer diameter, wall thickness and oxygen-barrier integrity against EN ISO 21003 / 15874 and ASTM F877 limits, logged per batch. That means a fitting seats identically from your first container to your twelfth — eliminating the mixed-stock complaints that lose contractor accounts. Method: Quality Control →
Can I run a recurring reorder program instead of one-off orders?
For the DistributorYes. Hitze plans fast-moving sizes (16/20/25/32 mm) against your sell-through so bins refill before they empty. First orders are low-MOQ and sample-friendly; steady-state moves to scheduled container reorders. Exact MOQ, lead-time weeks and on-time % available on request. Start here: Wholesale →
Do shipments include the certification documents I need for customs?
For the ImporterEach shipment can carry cUPC, NSF-14 / NSF/ANSI 61, DVGW, WRAS and CE + DoP documentation, plus the commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin. That clears customs on the first pass and lets you sell into compliance-driven projects. Certificate numbers available on request. See: Certifications →
Is Hitze a German brand, and can it private-label for my client?
For the Sourcing AgentHitze is a German-engineered brand (“Hitze” = heat) operating a German-brand + ODM model, so private-label supply for distributors and importers is standard. A full portfolio — PEX, PEX-AL-PEX, PP-R, press and compression fittings — ships under one consistent spec. Explore programs: Wholesale →
